Sailing Toward Hawaii Day 3&4

DAY THREE – Oct 1: We got up early (for us) so we could go to the dining room for breakfast. The Swedish Pancakes were my choice and Stuart had the French toast. Both were delicious. From there we went back to the Sea View pool for the sun. It felt so nice. I believe the noon announcement said it was 72F. Very nice cruising today. Still, lots of swells and some challenge for balance for me. We stayed up there until after lunch time. The Lido Market was in full swing for food but we are still full from breakfast. I went back to the cabin to change, shower, and work on the blog. Stuart changed and went to a Rum tasting and a few other errands after that. Later in the afternoon we went to the Crows Nest for Aloha Sunset Music. It was enjoyable with both singing and dancing to Hawaiian music. After relaxing there we decided to head to the dining room. We were passing Pinnacle Grill and, on a whim, we decided to eat there. One usually needs reservations but honestly, we have seen very few people eating there. Stuart had a filet and I had the short ribs. Both were very good but my highlight of the meal was the Coconut Seafood Chowder. It was rich and delicious and did not overwhelm with the coconut flavor. We closed down the day with music at the Ocean Bar.

DAY FOUR – Oct 2: What a fun day at sea! We go up a bit early and grabbed a large Latte on our way to the water color art class. That was fun, even if we didn’t end up having a stellar painting. We will definitely do that again. The instructor teaches many classes a day, but they are repeats to accommodate everyone who wants to participate. It was lunch in the dining room today. This is typically served from 12-1p on sea days, often we go to the Lido Market for lunch but this was a nice change. We thought about a wine tasting, but we have that tomorrow so we just played games until time for the Tiki Bar Grand Opening. Such a festive event with so much participation. From décor to pool toys, with Hawaiian tunes and dancing. There is a lot of entertainment on this cruise. Dinner in the dining room, followed by a brief casino stop. The casino has not been very lucrative to date. We finished off the night with James in Mix.
